Kronkosky and CI:Now Partner to Learn More about Adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder

The Kronkosky Charitable Foundation has partnered with CI:Now to conduct Phase II of a local assessment to learn more about the San Antonio area’s population of adults with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other intellectual and developmental disability (IDD). In the exploratory Phase I portion of the assessment, CI:Now worked with Kronkosky, Autism Lifeline Links, area service providers, adults with ASD/IDD and their families, and advocates to begin to understand the number, strengths, and needs of this population, as well as key policies, funding streams, and workforce capacity issues affecting our region’s ability to meet their needs effectively. Phase II will yield estimates of the size and demographics of the local population of adults with ASD/IDD, learn what we can about their needs and strengths, quantify the current capacity of the local service system, and lay the groundwork for system change to make this a better community for our families, friends, and neighbors with ASD/IDD to thrive. The assessment is scheduled for completion in February 2018.
