The Show & Share was born out of many data users’ collective frustration at not knowing what local data resources for the San Antonio region were already online or in the works. Hosted collaboratively by the Alamo Regional Data Alliance (ARDA), CI:Now, and LISC San Antonio, the Show & Share is intended to help us all discover existing local data resources and to inform the development of new ones.

From the website: Open Data SA is about providing free access to City data in a machine readable format, under an open license that allows the public to reuse and redistribute the data. The City of San Antonio launched this Open Data Portal in beta form in Summer 2018. The City has begun with the publication of some foundational datasets including 311 calls for service, permitting data, and an extensive catalog of GIS datasets.

Policy makers, developers, and constituents can use it to track our progress towards safe, healthy, affordable homes for all. Using the filtering tools, affordable housing investments can be tracked by district, funding source, housing type, and more.
Opportunity Housing Locator(coming soon) Richard Milk and Sara Eaves, San Antonio Housing Authority Show description
The Opportunity Housing Locator helps low-income families quickly find affordable housing in neighborhoods of relatively greater opportunity. The Locator uses online data and mapping technology to direct housing seekers to neighborhoods and rental listings that meet their priorities (e.g., school quality, transit access, and proximity to job or family) much like Zillow or Realtor.com does for prospective home buyers. The Locator will generate a personalized guide to neighborhoods that meet the users’ criteria, including color-coded maps ranking neighborhoods and listings of units within the program’s rent limits.
ACS Sidekick Jeremy Pyne, CI:Now, and Jef Waltman, JW Technology Consulting Show description
The ACS Sidekick makes it much easier and faster to slice hyperlocal U.S. Census American Community Survey (ACS) data in non-standard ways, calculating aggregate estimates and margins of error on the fly. In other words, a nonprofit with a 21-census tract service area can calculate indicators for that custom area – or custom age groups, income groups, zip code groups, etc – without tedious processing or complicated formulas. Developed for CI:Now by civic technologist Jef Waltman, ACS Sidekick allows you to save custom groupings and queries and re-use them over and over again, saving time and reducing error.
The Opportunity Zones Mapping Tool allows site visitors to search for properties and/or land in opportunity zones and understand nearby zoning and land use, available city incentives for development, and approved bond projects and public improvements.
