The United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County has partnered with Catholic Charities to launch Family Connects, an evidence-based home visiting program for families with new babies. Family Connects offers in-home medical information and other guidance, connections to community resources, and help building social support. CI:Now is analyzing fully de-identified local hospital data to inform the planning and implementation of the local program. Bexar County is one of four Texas communities preparing to launch Family Connects, which is funded through the federal Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting Program (MIECHV).
