‘Lives saved’ analysis replicated across the U.S.

CI:Now’s analysis of lives saved by staying home has now been replicated for cities dozens of cities and counties across the United States:

  • The Houston Community Data Connections team at the Rice University Kinder Institute analyzed lives saved for Harris County, Texas
  • The Baltimore Neighborhood Indicators Alliance analyzed lives saved for Baltimore City
  • DataHaven analyzed lives saved for the state of Connecticut
  • The West Philly Promise Neighborhoods project analyzed lives saved for Philadelphia
  • The Urban Health Collaborative at the Drexel University Dornsife School of Public Health analyzed lives saved for the 30 cities in the Big Cities Health Coalition, including Austin, Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Cleveland, Columbus, Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Fort Worth, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Las Vegas, Long Beach, Los Angeles, Miami, Minneapolis, New York City, Oakland, Phoenix, Portland, San Diego, San Francisco, San Jose, Seattle, and Washington, D.C.

Like CI:Now, these local data intermediaries are all members of the National Neighborhood Indicators Partnership (NNIP). NNIP partners are working together to help each other quickly develop good data to inform the COVID-19 response in our respective communities.
