Who We Are

CINow is a nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring that Bexar County and other Texas communities can access, understand, and use local data to improve community conditions.  Our approach encompasses the discovery, collection, linkage, analysis, and communication of  local data on dozens of issues that matter to communities, like financial stability, health, education, and housing.

Our ultimate goal is to positively impact lives and reduce disparities by delivering data that is not only comprehensive but also easily understandable. trustworthy. up-to-date.

Our History

Late 1990s
The San Antonio Community Network (SATNET) and San Antonio Community Information System (SACIS) join forces to create an information system where the residents of San Antonio and surrounding counties could readily access information related to healthcare, education, and social services.

The Alamo Area Community Information System (AACIS) is born with hopes “to provide our citizens with enhanced access to information, services, and tools that will aid them in all levels of community life and facilitate the development of skills necessary to improve upon the quality of life.”

With the United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County serving as the fiscal agent, AACIS contracts core staffing with UTHealth School of Public Health in San Antonio, solidifying that community-academic partnership.

AACIS rebrands into Community Information Now (CINow)

CINow becomes the 35th partner of Urban Institute's National Neighborhood Indicators Partnership, reaffirming our commitment to providing all communities with access to essential data and data understanding to foster equity and well-being across neighborhoods.

CINow co-founds the Alamo Regional Data Alliance

CINow officially launches as a nonprofit organization.
